A "Bandana" defined: A kerchief (from the French couvre-chef, "cover the head"). A triangular or square piece of cloth tied around the head or around the neck for protective or decorative purposes. Banditos and bank robbers in the Old West originally used the bandana. Cowboys, farmers, bakers, and railroad engineers to wipe the sweat off their faces, and keep dust out of their collars also wear bandanas around the neck. To keep their faces from being photographed Anarchists and political activists wear black bandanas and hoodies. In certain cities, non-violent bicycle clubs may wear black and white bandanas to show their association. In another statement of rebel fashion images from the punk era come to mind such as The Clash rockin' bandanas in the Rock the Casbah video.
Artists conceal their identities using the bandana. When worn over the mouth and nose bandanas lessen inhalation of paint fumes.

We named the show "A.K.A" (Also Known As) since many artists go under aliases.

If you are an artist that would like to contribute, you will need to fill out the Submission Form.
Blank bandanas can be obtained at your local Army Surplus Store or by clicking here.

After the Los Angeles exhibition, the show will travel to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico then to New York, NY.
